I'm sorry I haven't been all that active lately, just been really busy with work, dance lessons, and the occasional con to prep for. Last Friday I had my first origami demonstration over the Texas Art Supply store here in Houston, Tx and it went rather well. I'd met with Joan Son and after she saw a few of my original models, encouraged me to contribute to Origami USA. I was rather excited after the day's end. TAS even asked if I could teach a class or two in September (paid of course ) as well as submit pieces for an origami exhibition later in the fall.
Writing's going steadily, drawing lessons will start in the fall, origami's still pretty rev'd up and going strong.
Origami is rather special to me, as it's my first art I took up on my own. Poetry is something I cherish because that was the first art form my mother taught me, but origami was something I could do anywhere as long as I had a piece of paper, so it was a great stress reliever as well as a place to take out frustration (if it wasn't the cause of it XD).
I'm looking into creating a few more models and hopefully getting enough made to where I can get a book published. I'll have more details on it later, but needless to say I don't remember the last time I was so fired up for art, it makes me happy.
Love you guys, thanks for sticking around!
